DAY 6 Of THE GHANA 4 FIELDS DISCIPLESHIP TRAINING AND EVANGELISM WITH DOC TURK AND HIS GHANA TOGO MISSION TEAM FROM TEXAS, USA

63 BAPTISED INTO CHRIST

Amen, Charles Odoi has reported the following

Yesterday and today (Days 5 & 6) were for Entry into a new Field. We had sent people ahead of time to prepare the grounds - seeking the Persons of Peace (Luke 10:1-11).

Dapaong is the city farthest north at the west of Togo. It’s a town bordering Ghana to the west and Burkina Faso to the north. There have been attempts by churches to be there, but many have failed. Since the Churches of Christ have also tried and failed, many didn’t want us to give it a try now. But as we prayed about it, we were convinced that God would give us the victory based on these 2 reasons:

1. God would like to use the work in Dapaong to expand the Kingdom to Burkina Faso, where the church is virtually nonexistent

2. We have the 4 Fields Discipleship Tools, which is simple but very effective.

So trusting God, we decided to do just one and half days. Yesterday being Day 5, and full day on the field, we had only 63 Baptisms in 7 Communities. These are:

Datubjena

Nassiegou

Mouk

Naki

Karayatta

Guadaanyaag

Safogue

When we decided to work for just half day today (Day 6), and leave for Guerin Kouka in the late afternoon, little did we know that God was about to surprise us and uplift our seemingly discouraged spirits. Before the 3:00pm that the team decided to depart for Guerin Kouka, we had already baptized 243 souls in 7 communities. In one of the communities (Kpong), the number was so overwhelming that I had to enter the lake and assist the 2 men who were already in the lake. I’ve stopped getting into the water for over 10 years now, but I had to remember my earlier days and jump in.

With smiles on our faces and our spirits lifted up, we’re on our way to Guerin Kouka to visit and strengthen the 1,000s of brethren we have baptized since last June.

I know what you’re thinking. ‘Who takes care of these newly baptized in Dapaong, since there wasn’t any church there before?’

We have left able men on the ground, trained in the 4 Fields to nurture these newly born to begin growing into Disciples who make other Disciples.

Thanks for all involved in this great work for God and humanity.

Amen, Thank You Lord and thank you all involved
