Accra Team &Wives Brief Meeting Report.

Venue: Ashale Botwe Church of Christ (Host: Paul Ntem Maanoh, Evangelist)

Time: 1:30pm (GMT)

1. The meeting started at 3:00pm (GMT), though it was scheduled to start at 1:30pm (GMT) with mutual time led by Trainer Eric with an opening prayer by Trainer Christopher. The first prayer after various emotions have been expressed was offered by Trainer Job. The second round of emotions expressed was taken up in prayer by Trainer Amos.

2. Wives of trainers have been going through training for some time. They were given the opportunity to share their intentions and program of training women in various congregations within the country.

3. They gave their intended program as follows: Firstly, there is going to be a training program for Christian sisters with the Zone 7 area. Secondly, plans are also far advanced for training at Lakeside church of Christ (women). These two programs are within Accra. Thirdly, there would be training program in the Eastern region, particularly, the Kwahu areas (women). This would also include livelihood skills training for the women. By grace the Director of Youth Path (Mr. Cyril France), an NGO that is involved in such skills training was at the meeting. He pledged their support to provide training material and trainers to that effect. While the Eastern region program would be hosted by the Abetifi church of Christ in May, 2024, there would be a replication in the Upper East region of Ghana in August to be hosted by Bawku Church of Christ. Contact with host Bro James has been made.

4. Zoom training program for the Ladies was also discussed. They were to get ready to run their training without their men because the men’s presence will soon be over.

5. Dr. George Akpabli took trainers through who a L3 trainer is and Generational Map. It was suggested that, where training has been done be demarcated into zones and trainers assigned to assist various preachers and their leaders identify areas suitable and start small groups and grow them into full blown churches. The work/functions of a L4 trainer were linked to this discussion, challenging all trainers to aspire to move on to become L4 trainers.

6. A training lapse was identified within the Overview where trainers were not emphasizing enough the linkage of Mark 4:26-29 to the work of the Holy Spirit convicting people of their sins for remorseful repentance and baptism then continuing to teach them. Additionally, in the 5th part where only leaders are present for training, the responsibilities of leaders need lots of emphases.

7. It was further identified that, creation of regional team to be supported by an assigned experience trainer would help encourage them in the planting of new churches and providing training for these newly plated churches. Some well doing trained leaders within the regions are to be empowered in this direction.

8. The was a suggestion, if a guide book in the form of a manual is worked on to assist the regional teams in their planting and training of new churches to also plant churches came up (this shall be further discussed at higher levels within the Ghanaian contest). In view of these developments, trainers present were challenge to come out with tools they have one challenge or the other for such to be ironed out. This is because as the responsibility grows each would be required to lead teams for training and church planting.

9. Before the meeting was adjourned due to time constraints, all were asked to go through both the updated Manual and Notes and Drawings thoroughly to familiarized themselves with their content before printing.

10. The closing prayer was said by Trainer Lapmtey. The host and his wife then invited all trainers and their wives to a dinner fellowship to crown it all for the day.
